This isn’t my usual type of post but I’ve been nominated for the 2017 Liebster Award! You’re probably thinking what is the Liebster Award exactly?
The Liebster Award 2017 is an award that exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. Essentially it’s a bit of fun and a little recognition for newer bloggers.
To start this post I’d like to thank Nicole Lee from Cooking of a Lifetime for nominating me. Nicole’s blog features a recipes from all over and her food really does look fantastic so it’s worth checking out.
Nicole nominated a number of blogs and she’s also asked me a few questions so here are my answers to those.
Q&A
If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be and why?
I do have a list of five places I want to visit. Number 1 on that list is Thailand so I’d have to choose there. I know people that have gone there and absolutely loved it and I’ve read so much about it. I’ll get round to going there eventually.
Would you rather scuba dive or sky dive?
A sky dive. When I was in Dubai I saw the option to sky dive over Palm Jumeirah, I chickened out (and it was sooo expensive) but I wouldn’t mind giving that a shot! Although the GoPro videos I could get from a scuba dive would bring in the likes on Instagram!
If you could meet any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Well I’ve just watched season 7 of Game of Thrones so I’ll go for Daenerys Targaryen. How cool would it be getting flown around by dragons? And she’s Emilia Clarke. Do I need any more reasons?!
What is your favorite dish?
I’m from Scotland so I’m going for a traditional Scottish dish – haggis, neeps and tatties. If you ever get a chance to try haggis in Scotland then do, it’s lovely with some turnip (neeps) and mashed potatoes (tatties). Don’t google what haggis is before you eat it though…

Pizza or pasta?
Pizza. ‘Fun’ David Fact: I went around a decade without having pizza! My love of pizza really began when I started eating them again at 16 years old! I had pizza when I was younger and I was sick after having it so it put me off for about 10 years. Now pizza is my staple takeaway. I’m a pineapple on pizza kinda guy, don’t hate me 😉
Dark, milk or white chocolate?
This is a tricky one, I should say I have a sweet tooth so can I pick all three?! At work I try and stick to 3.30pm chocolate time. I’m not the biggest fan of dark chocolate so that’s out. I’d have to say milk chocolate but it’s a tough one because I love white chocolate too. Get me either and I’ll be your friend.
What is the most extreme thing you’ve ever done?
I really need to get some extreme things under my belt because I’m seriously lacking on this question! I wouldn’t say I’m an extreme sports kinda guy so I’d have to say something boring like the Hulk rollercoaster in Universal. Come back next year and I’ll try and get some actual extreme stuff done!
Where is your favorite place to relax?
From my travels it has to be either the Island of Mljet in Croatia or the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Both of those places are just so tranquil and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend a visit to either. I do like chilling watching TV when I’m at home though.
What is your favorite music album / song and why?
I’ll go a bit left field here and not go for the obvious choices like Oasis, The Libertines or The Beatles. I’ll go for the 59 Sound album by The Gaslight Anthem. I’ve seen them live a few times and this album is just brilliant. Give them a listen!
What is your favorite sport?
This is an easy one – football or soccer for any Americans reading this. You’ll probably find football references throughout my blog because a lot of my travelling has been for football. I’ve been to numerous countries following my football team and I’ve been to World Cups in South Africa and Brazil too! I’m a massive fan!
