ABOUT

AN INTRO TO ME

Welcome To Muckersie’s Movements!

You don’t need a CEO’s salary to sit at the front of the plane. You just need a better strategy.

I’m David, and I’m on a mission to prove that working a 9-5 doesn’t mean your holidays have to be standard. Whilst I’ve been working full time, I’ve mastered the art of using credit cards, hotel points and airmiles to enjoy 5 star travel. And you can too.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

The Story: From Edinburgh to 49 Countries

I grew up in a small town in the Scottish Borders, where the summer holidays usually meant the beautiful (but often rainy) landscapes of Fort William and Oban. I didn’t get on my first plane until I was 17, back in 2006. That was just across the water to Belfast in Northern Ireland.

That single flight changed it all for me.

Over the course of the next two years I’d ticked off eight countries. Today, I’m at 49 countries. From the ancient treasury of Petra to the volcanic springs of Reykjavik I’ve swapped the grey skies of Edinburgh for some of the most iconic places on earth.

I’m a pale guy from Scotland so I do need to be careful travelling. My first trip to Dubai ended with me looking like I was about to be served in a seafood restaurant… Not fun!

WHY AM I DIFFERENT?

The Lesson: Why I’m Different

I work in Finance so I’m always on the lookout for optimising spend and getting the best bang for my buck.

That made me realise that I could travel in business or in first class using credit card points on my normal monthly spend. Now I collect points everywhere I can – hotels, flights, experiences.

I’m here to show you how to turn your hard earned money into amazing, first class memories.

The Mission

I created Muckersie’s Movements to share the stories, strategies and systems to help you travel more. My goal is to see every country and I want to help you maximise your own movements along the way.
